Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz who was who was born within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her for her hometown. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's mother and father have both been Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. The actress has a younger brother Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated to Mendocino County, California, when she was just 7 years old. At the time, there was no electricity. Television books were the only way for Ryder for her time, and she was a voracious reader. When she turned 12 years old, Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. When she was 15years old, Ryder was offered her first acting job onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her high school years. Her professional acting, she believed that it would aid her. Sadly, this didn't occur. However, she pushed on with her dreams. Her breakthrough came in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder was able to continue playing characters that made a splash in various films. In 1993 she won an Oscar Awards for The Age of Innocence.
